According to Joystiq, GameStop and EB Games are accepting pre-orders for the Wii, but surprise surprise! It's only available as part of a super-bundle. In fact, it's 650 of the Yankee bucks.
What are you getting for all this? The list is as follows:
-
1 special edition 1 GB Wii SD card
-
6 games: Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz, Madden NFL 2007, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Red Steel, Trauma Center, and of course, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
-
Another Wii-mote (but this one doesn't come with the analogue stick attachment)
-
12-month Product Replacement Plan
-
A supposedly free Game Informer subscription
Hit "read more" to read all about it.
Much as we all love getting games that we really didn't want
in the first place (Madden NFL? Popular with jocks, but with the
$650-toting crowd?), I can't really believe that anybody would want to
buy this. Or at least, that's what I thought when I first heard the
news.
Joystiq asserts that these babies will fly off the
shelves, and sadly, they may be right. The fanboys (and girls) are
raving about the Wii's superiority, and an extra $400 dollars will
stymie the attempts of perhaps three of them. The rest, having found
their local toy store to be lacking in Nintendo products, will quickly
pony up the cash and buy an extra five games when they probably
would've just bought Zelda if they had had their say about it.
