After reports of a massive embezzelment and theft from Nintendo of America from Japan, Government action has been sparked.
Kyoto, Japan (KNEWS) - Fusajiro Yamauchi, his top lieutenant Fujisaro Yamauchi jr. and Nintendo Co. Ltd. are the subject of a criminal probe, Japanese federal prosecutors have confirmed. The Japanese government confirmed the investigation on Tuesday when it filed court papers asking to intervene in a civil lawsuit launched by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) against Yamauchi and Nintendo Co. Ltd. The 116 year old owner, sat down with the press earlier this morning, sporting a giant foam finger and an oversized sombrero, while his secretary, Maiko Yamada, 17, was perched in his lap in a school girl outfit, stated unanimously that he was going to look into it and bring whoever stole the money to justice. When he was reminded by the press HE was the one accused, he said “Sorry I wasn’t paying attention.” while playing with his game boy. The meeting lasted a total of 5 hours, 3 of which were of the media was waiting for the founder to wake up his nap. In its court filing, the government asked for a delay until the end of next month of the release of a document that Yamauchi and his co-defendants have requested. The government didn't offer details of the document, but said release of it would harm the federal criminal investigation. The SEC suit alleged that Yamauchi and his co-accused took cash from subsidiary Nintendo of America and concealed the action from investors, until a book was found on the floor of his office labeled: How to scam your shareholders and get the most cash out of your embezzlement. "The criminal investigation seeks to determine whether the SEC defendants and others fraudulently diverted corporate assets and opportunities owned by Nintendo of America to themselves and companies they controlled" the U.S. government's court filing stated. Rumors say that Mr. Yamauchi did this because he cannot monopolize the gaming industry. He also noted that he did have four alternatives, 1) Burn down the all the Nintendo headquarters in each country, start up somewhere else. 2) Get the mafia to snuff out the opposition. 3) Photograph his secretary in bed with the chairman of Sony Inc. 4) The ultimate weapon, Photograph Mr. Shigeru Miyamoto in bed with the chairman. Attempts were made by KNEWS to verify this by phone, but each time we called he seemed to get disconnected after we asked him about it. One of Mr. Yamauchi’s top advisor is out on ¥230-million bond, after he was caught stealing a grape from the local supermarket. That same advisor was earlier arrested and put on death row for stealing a Slurpee. Those charges were later dropped when prosecutors found out it was really an Icee, and he was released 2 days after being detained and compensated ¥10-million for wasting his time. A spokesman for J & J Snack Foods- Owners of the Icee subsidiary, said “He stole out fine product then gets compensated for it?! That’s BS! He should be paying us for stealing our superior product!” Mr. Kibbles (spokesman) yelled out from a rusty shack, yelling out profanities as he tried to drink the Icee, before throwing it at KNEWS reporters. KNEWS reporters returned to Mr. Yamauchi and found that he had committed suicide by throwing a toaster in the bathtub with him submerged in water. KNEWS is unclear why the owner did this, but it may have been the fact he was ordered to pay ¥1,600 (approx. $15 US) He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced DOA. Mr. Yamauchi’s funeral is set for Friday, April 22, 2005, at the city dump. It will be an open cardboard box, only if the late founder’s body hasn’t decomposed beyond regognition.
